Valhalla Perisher- commercial on location photography

Recently I had the pleasure of staying at Valhalla Perisher for several days and taking photos for the 2014 marketing program. When we arrived it was around -10deg with the wind chill factor and the resort had received 50cm of beautiful soft snow over the previous 24 hours. On arrival via Hans Over snow transfer we were greeted by the staff who helped us with our bags to our room and to settle us in.

Valhalla Commercial 2013- 3Each room consists of new very comfortable single beds that quickly convert to a king size bed for couples. The rooms are also independently heated ensure personal comfort. A great feature is the night light as you enter your private bathroom which saved me on several occasions.

Valhalla Perisher consists of 3 common areas. The lounge area with it’s comfy sofas and log fire place, the communal dining area and great games room with television, DVD, video, Wii game system as well as a games table for those card nights.

Valhalla Commercial 2013- 32Hot/ cold breakfast and a 3 course dinner daily are included in the cost of your stay at Valhalla Perisher. A really lovely touch was the cheese that is served at 5:00pm in the lounge area which is great after a big day skiing. Drinks are served by your waiter from 5:00pm until after dinner.

The drying room is conveniently located at the entrance to Valhalla Perisher so that you can move through this area to prepare for the days skiing and on return easily place all you snow/ cold weather gear back so that it will be dry for the next days activities.

The best part about the location is that you’re on the snow. You simply ski down to the lifts in the morning and head out for the day and when you finish a complimentary Hans Oversnow vehicle will return you to the lodge after 4:00pm.

My job while at Valhalla was to take photos of the rooms and common areas, the exterior, the view (which was amazing,) meals and some action shot around the resort. The highlight of the shoot was being able to photograph one of the staff who was a fire twirler in action. You can visit Valhalla’s website at
